Sterling Traditional Self-Insurance
Depending upon claims experience, stop loss underwriting guidelines, group size and demographics, and state regulations, the Sterling Traditional Self-Insurance program is available to groups as small as 51 employees. We offer:
- Custom benefit design. Employers can include a heath savings account (HSA) or health reimbursement arrangement (HRA) plan along with the HMO or PPO plan, but it isn't required. If they do, Sterling Health Services Administration, parent company of Sterling SIA, will also administer the HSA or HRA.
- A proprietary stop loss program designed to appropriately recognize the underwriting value for the self-insurance program. We work with multiple "A" rated stop loss carriers to provide our clients with the best rates to meet their needs.
- Medical, dental and vision claims management is provided through Capitol Administrators. Competitive GWH-CIGNA network discounts apply. Other network options can be supported.
- Our preferred discounted pharmacy benefit management is through Ventegra®, but other PBMs can be supported. If Ventegra® is selected, pharmacy rebates are passed to employers and employees, depending upon the deductible phase. This benefit is unique to Sterling.
- Sterling Health Choices is our preferred wellness program, offered through Viridian Health Management, but other wellness programs can be supported. If Sterling Health Choices is selected, employees can take advantage of Sterling financial incentives through our Sterling HealthAssets™ account.
- A proprietary Sterling HealthAssets™ account is provided for employees to hold pharmacy rebates and financial rewards for wellness programs like weight loss and smoking cessation. Sterling is so committed to the belief that employee engagement is critical to the long-term goal of lowering healthcare costs that we contribute annually to the Sterling HealthAssets™ account based on employee achievement of a wellness goal. This account is available to groups that choose our preferred PBM and wellness programs.
